Researching the works of Luigi Kasimir (1881-1962) from the collection of the Ptuj – Ormož Regional Museum in the framework of the Young Curator project
In the academic year 2023/2024, students of the third year of the undergraduate studies at the Department of History of Art, Faculty of Arts, University of Maribor, Marko Balažič, Monika Gerečnik, Ana Pleteršek, Rebeka Prelog, Jan Slaček, Lara Tumpej and Lucija Zemljič, were engaged in the research of the works of Luigi Kasimir (1881-1962), which are kept in the Regional Museum Ptuj – Ormož, as part of the Practical Training course. His works were first presented at the Media Nox Gallery in Maribor, where the exhibition was on display from 10 January to 15 February 2024. The second exhibition was mounted at the end of May, together with the Museum’s Curator of Cultural History, Tatjana Štefanič, in the exhibition space of the Ptuj Museum, in the East Tower of Ptuj Castle. A selection of Luigi Kasimir’s prints will be open to the public until 31 January 2025.
The prints on display focus on several themes, exploring the depiction of cityscapes, landscapes and figures in the artist’s oeuvre. Their findings are recorded in the exhibition’s
