BORIS FARIČ / ADDITIONAL RECONSTRUCTIONS

We cordially invite you to the opening of Boris Farič’s solo photography exhibition Additional Reconstructions, which presents new works from his long-standing exploration of photographic recording, scale and the creation of images.

The project, which the artist has been developing since 2016, continues the exploration begun in the series Topographia Europae Modernae. In that series, images of castles, when zoomed in on, revealed the fundamental structure of digital photography; in Additional Reconstructions, however, digital fragments become the raw material for new images. Farič uses digital techniques to reinterpret his own photographs. The result is a series of intensely coloured, abstract photographic compositions that establish a complex relationship between photography and painting, abstraction and representation.
