A barrel of wine hides a lot of wonders

THE HERITAGE OF BARREL MAKING CRAFT IN ORMOŽ

Barrel making as a local craft used to be a permanent feature of most Slovenian regions, it helped to improve the lives of many families, but today it is practically no longer found in the Ormož area and elsewhere (with rare exceptions). The purpose of the exhibition is not only to remind of this beautiful craft knowledge and skills, but also of the people who were connoisseurs and transmitters of their knowledge. Many of their products and tools have been preserved, but the people who could have entrusted us with many more have unfortunately long since left…

The exhibition will be on display from October 29, 2022 until January 31, 2023.
